Alex Au and Frederik Schandorff will lead VSR’s Asian programme this year, pairing up in the Pro-Am category of the highly competitive Blancpain GT World Challenge Asia championship at the wheel of the Italian team’s Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo.

Au, an experienced GT racer from Hong Kong, finished second in the Blancpain GT Asia Championship two years ago. His team-mate for 2019, Denmark’s Frederik Schandorff, will be making his GT3 debut but comes fresh being crowned Lamborghini Super Trofeo Middle East Champion after dominating the series with six wins from six races.

VSR will also run two Lamborghini Super Trofeo Huracan Evo cars in the Italian marque’s one-make series in Asia which supports the Blancpain GT World Challenge on four occasions. Au will share one of the team’s Huracans with Japanese racer Yuki Nemoto in the Pro-Am class. Nemoto, one of the stand-out drivers from the 2017 European Lamborghini Super Trofeo Championship returns to VSR after racing last season in Japanese Formula 3. VSR is honoured to field a second car in the Asian Championship this year for Malaysian driver Kumar Prabakaran who made his series debut in 2018.

Both Asian championships get underway at the beginning of April with a double header event at Sepang in Malaysia.
