PODIUMS AND PRO-AM VICTORIES IN NINGBO
2026 Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia, Round 2 – Ningbo (China)

Podiums and Pro-Am victories in Ningbo

The second round of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia Championship was held at Ningbo this weekend. The 98 Pro-Am entry of Todd Kingsford and Chris Van DerDrift took two class victories in their Mipox and Feynlab sponsored Huracan whilst youngsters Liam Sceats and Gustaw Wisniewski finished second overall in both races.

Out in the first qualifying session were Wisniwski and Kingsford. The VSR pair locked out the second row and when the lights went green for Saturday afternoon’s race held station until half-way around lap one when Kingsford lost out to the Pro car of Li. A lap later Wisniewski made a move on the 77 of Couto and took second place. The pit window opened on lap eleven and Kingsford pitted from second in Pro-Am for Van Der Drift who immediately became the fastest man on track. On lap fifteen Wisniewski pitted and Sceats took over the number 6 car. With twenty minutes left to go Sceats ran in second, nine seconds behind the leader and Van Der Drift was fifth overall, twenty seconds behind the Pro-Am leader. On lap twenty-one Van Der Drift caught and easily passed Liu to move into the class lead as out front Sceats had got the gap to race leader Tregurtha down to six seconds. When the chequered flag fell he was just four seconds back, taking second place with Van Der Drift fourth overall and claiming another Pro-Am win for himself and team-mate Kingsford.

Van Der Drift start from pole for Sunday’s race and Sceats lined up on row three. At the start Van Der Drift kept the Batmobile Racing cars behind him and Sceats held on to fifth. An early Safety Car paused racing for several laps and at the restart there were just twelve minutes to go before the pit window. Van Der Drift immediately started to pull out a gap as Sceats swapped places with Sherlock several times before pitting for Wisniewski at the start of the window. Setting fastest lap Van Der Drift pulled out nearly ten seconds over Tregurtha in second before pitting for Kingsford. When the window closed Wisniewski was up to third and chasing down Kingsford and Cecotto. Cecotto took the race lead with seven minutes left on the clock but Kingsford hung on to the Pro-Am win and took the flag second overall with Wisniewski a three seconds back, second in the Pro class.
