KINGSFORD AND VAN DER DRIFT TAKE PRO-AM WIN IN FINAL HURACAN RACE

Lamborghini Super Trofeo World Final, Monza

Kingsford and Van Der Drift win final Super Trofeo Huracan Pro-Am race

** Sceats and Wisniewski second overall **

This weekend at Monza the last ever races for the amazing Lamborghini Super Trofeo Huracan took place. VSR Huracans have won eleven titles in Europe and Asia throughout the years and the Italian team fielded four cars in the World Final.

Monza was dry and sunny for qualifying at lunchtime on Saturday. Wisniewski was the best of the VSR drivers, qualifying on row four for the first race. Levet lined up four rows further back and was fourth in Pro-Am. Hankey was one row further back and Kingsford twelfth in Pro-Am.

Race one started with an incident free first corner and then a touch between Taurino and Iaquinta allowed Wisniewski to move up to sixth just before the Safety Car came out for Biglieri in the gravel. Hankey ran fifteenth and Levet and Kingsford were lying fifth and eleventh in Pro-Am respectively. The track went green again ten minutes before the driver change window opened. On lap five Wisniewski passed Marcielli for fifth. Kingsford was the first car to pit, stopping for Van Der Drift on lap ten. Hankey stopped next, handing the 66 car to Green. With three minutes left before the window closed Wisniewski entered pit lane for Sceats and a lap later Levet pitted for Cristovao. With fifteen minutes left of the race Sceats was in fourth, fighting with Bamber over third as together they reeled in the leaders. Green ran eleventh, Cristovao was third in Pro-am, holding off a challenge from Brewer and Van Der Drift was clawing his way through the field. A spin on lap nineteen for Cristovao pushed him down the order and a lap later Green, battling with Putera and Morey, ran through the gravel. With two laps to go Sceats was all over Bamber and they took the chequered flag separated by just two tenths of a second. Van Der Drift took fourth in Pro-Am on the road after last lap pass on Brewer but was then demoted out of the points by a post-race penalty. Cristovao scored Pro-Am points, finishing in seventh.

For the last ever Super Trofeo race with the Huracan pole went to VSR driver Van Der Drift. Sceats lined up two rows further back with Green on row five and Cristovao on the fifteenth row.

At the start of the final race Van Der Drift shot off into the lead but behind him there was chaos and the Safety Car was immediately called out. Racing resumed on lap five with Van Der Drift out front, Sceats in seventh, Green twelfth and Cristovao tenth in Pro-Am. Sceats and Cristovao both gained a place at the restart and then the driver change window opened. First to stop was Cristovao for Levet, next in was Green for Hankey. Sceats entered a lap later for Wisniewski and Van Der Drift stayed out pulling out a gap of eight seconds. Hankey, running in fourth after a successful undercut, fell down the order when he was forced to take a Drive Through. Driver changes all done Kingsford held a slender lead over Pro drivers Leitch and Wisniewski but had nine seconds over the second-placed Pro-Am car of Biglieri. On lap thirteen Leitch took the overall lead as Wisniewski closed in. With ten minutes to go Levet passed Cecotto for ninth in Pro-Am. As the race reached the final laps Wisniewski held second overall and Kingsford third overall and first in Pro-Am as he defended from a gaggle of seven Pros cars. He held on to take the Pro-Am spoils for the thirteenth time this season, finishing sixth overall. Levet took eighth in Pro-Am despite receiving a heavy sideswipe from Siderman in the closing stages.

At the end of the World Final event, when the points were tallied up, Sceats and Wisniewski finished fourth in Pro and Kingsford and Van Der Drift third in Pro-Am.
